Reflection 1

Is cultural identity important to have? As i've learned from this class, it's very important to have cultural identity because it show your background and who are to this world. But if you don't have it so you're not belong to this world. In pop culture class i've learned many things so far. For example, in unit 3 "Define American," that there is many factor affect people's self -  image, One is biological and the other is cultural and composed culture. I've learned that with time and patient, we can experience a positive effect of culture shock. We shouldn't  care about the race that you have, for example, We listened to a song called "One" it tells you that we are all the human beings are the same, it doesn't matter where you from or what color you have, it's all about love. iceberg have three levels, first of all  above sea level is formal, for example, music, dress, food, language, games ... etc. Emotional loud: relatively low. Second, is Informal (Deep culture) and it's partially below see level, in this level the rules are unspoken. For example, eye contact, touching, body language ..etc. Emotional loud: very loud. And Finally, unconscious rules and it's completely below sea level. For example, nature of friendships, concept of "self," concept of past and future... etc. Emotional loud: intense. Aha, many people reject he nation that the United Sate is melting pot where everyone is simply "American" Instead they see american as a salad bowl containing a mix of ethnicities within the larger U.S. popular culture.
